It all began on Friday 23rd September, 1994 - the day's ride from Sunbury
to Keating's Hotel in Woodend actually finished in the dark (but the evening
is best remembered for the beer, the lies, the cake and the darts). The
Saturday was an epic ride to Daylesford, and a night around the piano
at the Bellinzona Guest House. Sunday involved a few hills, and took in
the Lavender farm on the way to lunch at Maldon. It cannot be said that
the lads were at the peak of fitness, but it was a great weekend and the
forerunner of many more to come.

We met at Rod Lockwood's house at 9.00am
sharp .... |
 |
.... did our best to get out of his driveway
.... |
 |
.... which was enough for the day. So
we decided to re-hydrate for medicinal reasons. |
 |
Do you really think I've got a shot of
getting into the Michelin calendar? |
 |
The outfits for these one day internationals
are getting ridiculous |
 |
It wasn't really Roddy's birthday - and
the bugger didn't even share the cake |
 |
Gee its tough being fitness fanatics
- we'd better go into this milk bar for a health drink. |
 |
And this is the one I pulled out of Mr
Tulloch .... |
 |
.... things were a bit tight, we had
to lift his legs apart, but eventually we got that silver spoon. |
 |
"Mike, do you think she knows we're
here?" |
 |
Oh dear, how did I get myself into this?
I'll just keep playing and hopefully the music will calm the beast. |
 |
Eventually the oysters kicked in and
they all went off to one room, and that's when the noise really started. |
 |
No-one said we actually had to ride on
one of these weekends. |
 |
Tulloch was thrilled to find some more
road trash for his farm |
