Beechworth - Apr 95

Thursday train to Benalla, then rode to Millawa for cheese and wine tasting and dinner at Ross Brown's house where Roddy made a complete idiot of himself with party tricks that didn't work. Friday was the famous ride/walk/crawl up Buckland Gap to Beechworth. Then to Yackendandah for a ride on Tom's truck, and to Chiltern for the Saturday night. Joan of Barnawatha was having her 77th birthday that night and the Marauders made it a night for her to remember - and all her friends! Visited Joan in "Barny" the next morning and on to Rutherglen for lunch at Chambers' Winery.

We got ourselves into peak condition for this trip
Bloody hell - I told you it'd be easier if we actually had some bikes
The bloke in the pub told us to get rooted, so ...
Group meeting to decide how to tackle the long climb out of Yackendandah
Decision reached. Tom the local hill climbing champ to the rescue
Sabes, I don't think I can make it up this hill. I'll have a sip of my Gatorade - that'll help
The peloton averaged 60kmh over the day's 220km leg
The Gilligans Island trip - Ginger hadn't aged well
There was only one way out - so we let her have it
Sorry I beat you by so much. Maybe you should train harder
